This 8-week term will centre around inspiration from nature with a focus on botanical elements and abstracted details in nature. The class will explore this subject using a variety of mediums including watercolour, acrylic paint, ink and other approaches!
Botanical Illustration workshop
Perfect for beginners and those with a little more experience, this class focuses on achieving a beautiful gum leaf painting using watercolour and gouache. In the first half of the class, there will be an introduction to basic watercolour techniques and mixed media approaches to creating your own botanical illustration.
Intro to Watercolour
Are you curious to learn more about the magical medium of watercolour? This class is designed to introduce you to the materials, techniques, tricks and tips to get you painting with watercolour in no time! Expect to learn basic techniques and approaches and then apply them to capturing everyday objects. Walk away with resources, a cheat sheet for future reference in a small class setting.
Intro to Gouache Painting workshop
Learn to paint with the beautiful Gouache medium in this three hour workshop with Nicole Black.
If you have ever been curious about painting with gouache, and would like to learn more, this class will introduce the medium’s characteristics. as well as techniques such as layering and mixing colours and colour theory. We will then apply these techniques to achieve small landscape paintings.

Intro to Watercolour painting was fun and engaging. The 3 hours just flew by but we achieved so much in the class from learning how to get effects with different colours, shapes and mediums; to coming up with a finished painting by the end.
